Module One: Introduction to Astrology

Astrology is not a religion; there's no deity or clergy or Guru vibes at Crave School.

It's obvious we are born into and living at a time of transition in the world from an old paradigm to a new paradigm; Astrology has always been the perfect tool or model for navigating who we are in changing times.

People sometimes wonder if astrology is true, but the better question is "Does it really work?". In our beginner's course we explore how astrology actually works through Jungian archetypal symbols that live within our deeper unconscious minds. These are the primal human drives and urges that must have their expression so we can experience ourselves as Whole. They move through your psyche — your emotions, your desires, your fears, your relationships, your growth edges. This is experiential, embodied astrology. The kind that meets you where you are and expands you from the inside out. The father of modern psychology (also an astrologer) remarked about the astrological chart and the planets:

“…the planets are the Gods, symbols of the powers of the unconscious.”.  “We are born at a given moment, in a given place, and like vintage years of wine, we carry the qualities of the season in which we are born.” - Carl G. Jung.

What to Expect

By the end of this (Module One 12 weeks) journey, you’ll understand the foundations of your chart — the zodiac signs, planets, houses, and aspects — in a way that you get to understand these without the old paradigm stereotypes. This is a rare offering. No prior knowledge needed. Just curiosity, openness, and a willingness to explore your inner terrain. You'll learn about how the effects the shifting world paradigms you were born into limit your potentials and inner resources. You'll learn ways of letting go of limiting beliefs to fulfil your potentials more excellently.

As you move through the lessons and learn from sharing with classmates' natal charts, you’ll start noticing how astrology mirrors your personality, your strengths, your patterns, and the subtle rhythms of your everyday life. You’ll learn to read charts, yes — but more importantly, you’ll learn to read yourself and others better.

This course is your doorway into the wider astrological world. Whether you eventually wander into Astro cartography, relationship astrology, predictive timing techniques, or deeper psychological astrology, this is your initiation, the doorway, your beginning, and beginnings are always magic.

How to Approach This Journey

We'll go slowly and gently at a pace that builds understanding. Astrology is a lifelong practice — even seasoned astrologers are always learning, always refining, always discovering new layers. You’re not meant to “master” this overnight.

Go over the lessons you will learn in class as homework in your own time to further strengthen and cement your knowledge, so you become automatically competent. Keep a notebook or digital journal. Write down what resonates, what confuses you, what awakens something in you. Track your insights. Track your questions. Track your patterns. Astrology becomes clearer the more you observe yourself through it.

This is not a race. It’s a relationship — with the cosmos and the 26,000 years cycle of Great Ages, other classmates and with yourself.

Course Goals & Outcomes

This course isn’t about labelling yourself or boxing anyone in. It’s ultimately about self-discovery, purpose, direction and meaning in life. Think of your chart as a map — not of fate, but of possibility and your own human potentials just waiting to be expanded. There are no right or wrong answers here, no exams, only layers waiting to be uncovered.

By the end, you’ll feel confident reading the basics of a chart and using astrology as a tool for reflection, healing, and self‑understanding. You’ll see yourself and others with more compassion, more nuance, and more curiosity.

Let this be a journey of noticing and exploring, without judgments. It's a journey of remembering who you are — and who you’re becoming.

Intermediate Astrology and Advanced Astrological Techniques are available after completion of Module one. You will receive a Certificate of Competency upon satisfactory completion of each of the three modules. Other optional classes will become available in the future.
